Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. Its important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. Youll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86F (30C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Dont do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.

I'm 5' 8" (32 inch inseam) and 145 lbs and the XS fits me perfectly. These overpants are easily the best purchase I've made all year for cycling gear, and have changed how I dress for winter riding in the Eastern Sierra. My very expensive deep winter tights are getting left on the shelf, instead I'm using light, full length tights with these overpants as the bullet proof solution to riding in the 30s-40s. The comfort and insulation is frankly superior to the single layer approach. This is largely due to the extremely well made overpants, providing a very tailored fit. I have other overpants, which I had to modify by the addition of suspenders but Velocio has it covered there as well. Overpants tend to be an over priced afterthought but these ooze quality. They have full length zippers which I don't need, but has been noted by others, they call no attention to themselves in use.
I was a little concerned about how the full length zippers would feel while riding, but it's a complete non-issue.
I’ve always liked wearing over pants on top of shorts and knee/leg warmers. These over pants are by far the best pair I have ever owned. I like that the crotch area is tight to my shorts, I’ve had others over pants that did the low rider thing and always got hung up on my saddle, these don’t! The articulated knee area is genius. The soft shell front panels kept the wind and cold at bay on a recent 3hr jaunt through 32° temps. I am 6’0” and 165lbs, I went with the medium size, same as all my other Velocio shorts and tights.
I throw these on when the temps are not rising much past the 30s Fahrenheit or less and feel so warm all day. They fit loose around the knees. The adjustable bibs are very handy and the buckles are not as bulky as I thought they might be. I would say they are not a race fit overall. They are super easy on and off with the full length zip on the side of each leg. I love using these with my Concept shorts as there is nothing but comfortable ride when the elements are not the best. I am a husky rider at 190 lbs and 5'10"
I purchased an older version of this overpant 5 years ago on close-out. They were my go to for all cold weather riding above 28 degrees. Perfect for race warm-up at cross venues. The full side zippers and detachable suspenders was what I had been looking for but couldn’t ever find. I recently purchased the new overpants. The pants are more versatile, warmer, and useful for both biking and Nordic skiing. The pants are my new favorites. Thoughtful upgrade that is worth the cost.
