Sometimes an easy extra leg layer is necessary. Cyclocross warm-ups. Mid-winter layering. Cold weekday commutes. With a full-length side zip, our new softshell Overpant couldn’t be easier to deploy. We incorporated a windproof and water-resistant softshell front panel using the same versatile eVent 3-layer construction as our Softshell Jacket. Paired with a Primaloft performance yarn backer, the Overpant is an exceptionally breathable option with a 10k waterproof membrane to ward off all but the most torrential downpours.
For the less exposed rear panel, the Overpant deploys the same comfortable and compressive Thermoroubaix Power fabric found in our Thermal Bib Tight. Put everything together and the Overpant is aimed at a better riding experience with a focus on wearability and comfort. This is a piece that can work as a stand-alone against cool conditions or layered for winter warmth.

Sizing Guide
Our jerseys and bib shorts are intended to be form fit, providing compressive support, maximizing performance of the fabrics, and reducing fatigue and chafing. Due to the compressive nature of the fabrics, you will be able to fit into more than one size. Please use the charts below to help determine your optimum size:
- Find your weight along the top of the table.
- Look down the column to find your appropriate size.
- Each size has a height range based on weight.
- If you find that you are on the upper or lower end of height and weight for a given size, the garment will have more or less compression respectively.
- Use the Dimensions Details chart to further dial in your fit.

I’ve always liked wearing over pants on top of shorts and knee/leg warmers. These over pants are by far the best pair I have ever owned. I like that the crotch area is tight to my shorts, I’ve had others over pants that did the low rider thing and always got hung up on my saddle, these don’t! The articulated knee area is genius. The soft shell front panels kept the wind and cold at bay on a recent 3hr jaunt through 32° temps. I am 6’0” and 165lbs, I went with the medium size, same as all my other Velocio shorts and tights.

I throw these on when the temps are not rising much past the 30s Fahrenheit or less and feel so warm all day. They fit loose around the knees. The adjustable bibs are very handy and the buckles are not as bulky as I thought they might be. I would say they are not a race fit overall. They are super easy on and off with the full length zip on the side of each leg. I love using these with my Concept shorts as there is nothing but comfortable ride when the elements are not the best. I am a husky rider at 190 lbs and 5'10"

I purchased an older version of this overpant 5 years ago on close-out. They were my go to for all cold weather riding above 28 degrees. Perfect for race warm-up at cross venues. The full side zippers and detachable suspenders was what I had been looking for but couldn’t ever find. I recently purchased the new overpants. The pants are more versatile, warmer, and useful for both biking and Nordic skiing. The pants are my new favorites. Thoughtful upgrade that is worth the cost.

Several years back I purchased a similar full side zip tight on close out from Velocio. Those tights became my favorite because they were so versatile with the full side zip and removable bib style straps. The new Overpants are much better than the older version and they were really good. I will be using these overpants for cyclocross warm-up (already have), cold below 32 degree winter rides, Fat Biking in very cold conditions probably with light long johns underneath and cross country skiing in very cold conditions. I was skeptical these tights could justify the price and I think without a doubt they are worth the cost. Velocio sizing is tricky for me. I usually go a size larger in shorts then they recommend. Ordered a large and they were to big so exchanged for a medium.
