We developed the Ultralight Vest to be the most minimal and lightweight protective layer we could find. At just 20 grams per meter, the Japanese milled Pertex Quantum nylon used in the front, sides and shoulders is 100% windproof, breathable and exceptionally light. A go-to for early morning starts, Tuesday Night Worlds cool downs or Col du Galibier descents when you've run out of newspaper. This is a must-have emergency layer that will find its way into your pocket most of the year.
Fabric: 100% Nylon
Made in: Italy
Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
How do your vests fit?
Our vests are patterned for the riding position, with a tighter fit across the chest and an arm opening with a more forward position. This is intentional to reduce flapping and extra fabric across the chest while riding. When standing, the vest will feel tight across the chest and torso. This piece should fit tight over your jersey (with enough room for a long sleeve and base layer), and shouldn’t appear baggy. We select fabrics that have some elasticity to allow for freedom of movement even with a tailored fit to accommodate some range of fit within each size.
How do your jackets fit?
Similar to our vests, our jackets are patterned in the riding position, with a tight fit across the chest and arms with a more forward position. This is intentional to reduce flapping and extra fabric across the chest while riding. When standing, the jacket will feel tight across the chest, shoulders and torso. The arm length might appear long as well. However, the intended fit is tailored for on-the-bike positioning where the shoulders and torso no longer feel tight and the extra arm length hits the wrists in the appropriate spot. Constructed without extra fabric to flap around - it should fit tight over your jersey (with enough room for a long sleeve and base layer), but shouldn’t appear baggy. We select fabrics that have some elasticity to allow for freedom of movement even with a tailored fit to accommodate some range of fit within each size.
Our jerseys and bib shorts are intended to be form fit, providing compressive support, maximizing performance of the fabrics, and reducing fatigue and chafing. Due to the compressive nature of the fabrics, you will be able to fit into more than one size. Please use the charts below to help determine your optimum size:

Exactly what I needed. A vest that protects your core keeping your engine warm. The mesh backside keeps you cool especially when layered w/ the signature LS. All you need for riding in NorCal.
As advertised. Minimalist garment but does exactly what one wants. Love it
The vest is very well designed and works great on those early morning where you need something to cut the chill for the first moments of a ride. Very easy to fold up and stow in the pockets of my Trail Base Layer. I wear a size large in pretty much everything, but I had to size up in order for this to work. Felt like I was doing my best Christ Farley impersonation - fat guy in a little coat. I could get it on, but was a real challenge to take it off. For reference I am 6'1", 190 lbs and 44" chest.
Almost returned for a bigger size, insanely snug on me. But then, after riding with it, its true design comes out. The zipper will need to be durable because it’s close to max each pull. The stretch mesh on the back side of waist makes it all possible to squeeze me in. So sitting at a cafe? No, it looks as if I am wearing a child’s vest, zipped open from the bottom and also the top with closure around my belly. But on the road, in cycling position on the bike, the vest comes into its own, feeling comfortably close and blocking wind over my core. Had the neck not fit, would have returned. I also want to support this progressive business!
I purchased this somewhat on a whim, figuring I’d decide if it was really worth it, as it seemed like somewhat of a lightweight piece for the price. I really love it, though. Perfect for those late spring/early summer mornings when the temperature is below 60 degrees and I just want a little windbreak without the overheating of a full vest. The open back allows for cooling off nicely without chill. I anticipate using it throughout May-June and then September-October before I switch to a more standard vest.
