There is no greater natural fiber for four-season comfort than merino wool. Its unrivaled ability to absorb and wick away moisture (and still smell good) offers a cooling effect in the summer and a warming effect in the winter for second-to-none comfort while riding. Our range of fall/winter weight base layers utilize merino-based fabrics, sourced from ultrafine merino but cut in a more relaxed fit for added comfort and easy layering. At 160gsm, this mid-weight base layer adds warmth without bulk for shoulder season through mid-winter riding when worn beneath our long sleeve jerseys and jackets. Or it can act as a stand-alone layer dressed up for any casual Friday (or as we call them, Friday.) Enjoy anti-bacterial, odor-resistant, and thermoregulating goodness in this natural fiber top.

Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. Its important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. Youll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86F (30C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Dont do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
The Velocio Signature Guarantee underscores our mission to create a better cycling experience. We believe that riding in our gear is the best proof of our commitment to quality and performance. Therefore, we stand behind everything we make. Try any of our products for 30 days to ensure it meets your needs. Wear it. Ride in it. Wash it. We believe it will provide a better riding experience. If you are not 100% satisfied with your Velocio product, you may return it within 30 days of receiving the product.

I have used it a few times in pretty cold weather. It does a great job managing my temp and does what good wool should-- wick moisture while insulating. It's also a very nice looking piece. It's almost a shame to have it covered up as a base layer.
So far I've had great experiences with Velocio bike apparel, and this base layer is no different. Excellent materials and manufacture. It has definitely helped make cold rides a bit warmer. I ride in the NE US, and right now, I can find myself riding anywhere from 28F to 50F. Above 50F, I can get away with a heavy jersey and this base layer. I've ridden in sunny conditions at 28F with this base layer, a long-sleeve jersey, and a heavy jersey on top, and once your blood gets pumping, it's plenty warm.

I have this piece and it is ok, but it seems a tad bit disingenuous to call this Merino, since it is barely 1/4 wool. I will keep it, but probably wouldn't purchase it again. I should have read the description more carefully. Fabric: 72% Polyester / 28% Merino Wool
This is the second one I’ve bought, and I absolutely love it!!
