It's a four-letter word.
That doesn't stop Dan Booker from taking it seriously though. He's worked as a trail builder for his hometown park — the Maydena Bike Park. He's worked as a flat-pedal evangelist. And now he's working as a full-time rider with a hell of a whip.
Does that make Velocio workwear? Dan can be the arbiter of that.
Welcome to Velocio Dan.
Fair enough. Work-life balance is important. Dan is a 26-year-old Australian who's been practicing his death grip for most of his life — think New World Disorder days. From digging trails with his brothers in his backyard to racing on the world stage, Dan has risen through the enduro ranks almost as fast as he can pin it downhill. Podium finishes at the Enduro World Cup, a staple of the top 10 at Crankworx, a whip-off aficionado... the list goes on.
Dan isn't resting on his laurels either. He just joined the Santa Cruz/SRAM Free Agent program, he's outfitted in Velocio Off-Road Equipment, and he's set up for a year bouncing between Hardlines, EDRs, and Crankworx events.
Dan has been riding most of his 26 years, and he's been racing for 18. Growing up in the mountain-biking hotbed of Tasmania, competing is about par for the course, and winning is a rite of passage.
For Dan, that rite came early. He found himself at the top of the podium on October 7, 2012, at the U17 Tasmanian MTB Gravity Series. He's been regularly climbing steps ever since.
Dan doesn't credit all his success to riding the bike park though. He was just as likely to be found at the skatepark or riding dirt jumps.
Now based in Queenstown, NZ, Dan's pedigree for speed and penchant for style are going on tour for his second professional season.
Through the Santa Cruz Free Agent Program with factory support from SRAM, Dan will race at select Enduro World Cup stops along with Crankworx, leaving just enough time for him to make celebrity appearances at other notable events. Stay tuned for more.
Velocio didn't partner with Dan just because of his race results. Dan carries Velocio's values through everything he does. He's constantly trying to be the best version of himself, on and off the bike. He's judicious about what he promotes, finding both the best performance, but also a commitment to sustainability. And while he has certainly made it clear he's always in contention for the top spot, enjoying his time on the bike is equally as important.
