In 2022 No Borders, our European focused gravel team managed in collaboration with BMC Switzerland and SRAM, put together a year to be proud of.
Henning became the first gravel world champion in the 35-39 age group, while Daniel finished 12th in his age group. Elsewhere, Lisa took first in her category at The Rift Iceland Gravel Race. All together No Borders competed, traveled, and ground their way to a incredible year.
Moving into the second year of No Borders, Daniel, Henning, and Lisa plan to build on their list of accomplishments.
The team aims to share the personalities, stories, drama and challenges from gravel racing.
Get to know the No Borders team through the introductions below and follow their season on @no_borders_gravel. The riders will explore the many countries and undiscovered possibilities on gravel roads in Europe and build awareness around our common visions.
Hey, my name is Henning and I have been living in Berlin for 20 years now. I have collected more than 500.000 lifetime kilometers and did serious racing on the track, where I competed 12 times at the World Championships. I traveled in more than 60 countries and still love to ride my bike.
I like being outside and photographing. And I like challenges. I completed an Everesting and a 400km training ride in 2020 but still have fun and motivation to race. I am running a small cafe in the center of Berlin, where I luckily bake more than I eat.

Before I started cycling I actually used to be a rower. Rowing is a tough sport, where you need power, technique and a lot of grit. Much like cycling actually. I was a part of the national team and raced several World Cups and World Championships.
One of the my largest achievements was becoming World Champion in my hometown and making the Olympic team in Rio 2016! After my rowing career I finished Medical school and started riding bikes to stay fit. Missing the adrenaline of racing so much, I began racing fixed gear crits, road races and eventually gravel. Living in San Francisco the past two years made me fall in love with gravel racing! Unbound was by far the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, so happy to have finished seventh! I'm stoked to race gravel in Europe and be part of this awesome community!

I'm Daniel and I have ridden bikes for as long as I can remember. I took it up on a more serious level in the early 2000s starting out mountain biking doing XC Marathons but pretty soon I turned my attention to the road.
I raced pretty seriously for about 10 years and after that I've just kept going. I don't race as much as I used to but still put in quite a decent amount of training. When I don’t ride I run Sweden’s largest cycling podcast "Cykelwebben".
