Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. Its important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. Youll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86F (30C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Dont do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
How do your vests fit?
Our vests are patterned for the riding position, with a tighter fit across the chest and an arm opening with a more forward position. This is intentional to reduce flapping and extra fabric across the chest while riding. When standing, the vest will feel tight across the chest and torso. This piece should fit tight over your jersey (with enough room for a long sleeve and base layer), and shouldn’t appear baggy. We select fabrics that have some elasticity to allow for freedom of movement even with a tailored fit to accommodate some range of fit within each size.

Wonderful! Loved the light weight of the fabric. And the performance I am 5’9, 145 lbs. The small was perfect but I don’t like tops to hug me too tight so I moved up to a medium. It’s a bit longer but still provides the protection on cool mornings. I also purchased arm warmers for those mornings it starts off in the 40’s or 59’s then warms up to the high 60’s plus. The vest and the arm warmers fold up small and fit neatly in my jersey pockets.
Stretchy enough to go over a jacket yet fits well with just jersey. Well engineered for best shoulder coverage and no flapping. Wasn’t sure how I would like the breast pocket but after using it a few times with a wallet, it’s a good feature. Nice long tail.
I love this vest! I was looking for a vest with pockets and this has more than I was looking for. I do feel the vest runs small but then I am not the average small frame rider. I returned my first purchase and bought a size up.
Look closely at the model wearing this vest in Velocio’s online catalog? Notice the subtle shape of the shoulders. Look again. Now think about the parts of your body that hit the cool wind before your hands, face and knees. What part is that? Yep! Your shoulders! And Velocio has you covered while still allowing freedom of movement and comfort when on the hoods or down in the drops. Have achey shoulders because of a broken collarbone? Velocio Uktralight Vest! Are you older and suffering from arthritis in your shoulders? Velocio Ultralight Vest! Want to protect your shoulders like you protect your knees from cold air with knee warmers (Veloico makes a great pair of these too) Veloico Ultralight Vest! Need a vest you can jam in your back Jersey pocket when you don’t want it on? Velocio Ultralight vest. Need a vest for cool to mild temps? Early morning? Sunset? Sun behind the mountain ? That long descent? Veloico Ultralight Vest! Plus, it has big rear pockets and an interior chest pocket in front. No flapping, perfect length in front and back. Ive been riding and racing since 1971. I’ve worn a lot of kit from many manufacturers. Hands down, this is the most effective vest I’ve ever worn. It’s absolutely brilliant! 6’3”, 190 lbs, Size xxl covers the top of my shoulder perfectly. I usually wear an XL, so that’s a size up but I’m also going to say it’s true to size, depending on your shoulder width. Again, the length was also perfect for me.
Used on a few cold morning starts, however, we're in peak heat season, so not really putting this vest through its paces. First impression here. Fabric is super lightweight. I wanted something that was lighter and packed smaller than the Breton SE Wind Vest, and was not as burley as my Rain Vest. This works perfectly for this purpose, as fits in back jersey pocket, or hardly takes up any space in my bag. I bought a Large, though I wear a Medium in all Velocio jerseys. I've found I prefer the fit of the Large vests better, still fits snug. I'm 6-ft 1 inch, 165 pounds. One part I am uncertain about is the chest pocket. I like having a pocket, however, I've never had good luck with pockets that use welds instead of being stitched-in. The welds seem to fail over time, but maybe these will hold longer than on other brand jackets I've had with welded pockets.
