Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
Velocio fit is designed for comfort and performance. Starting with a form-fit silhouette, we've developed our women's-specific patterns from the ground up to compliment a wide range of body types and riding styles. All of our apparel is tailored for on-bike fit to ensure optimal muscle support and range of motion while riding. You may find certain aspects of our garments to seem "off" while standing, yet once you start pedaling these points disappear.
Velocio bibs and shorts are made from highly compressive performance fabric for excellent support through an athletic fit. They will feel small when you first put them on and will often require washing and a few rides for them to "break in." We strongly believe in the benefits of compression - both in its performance benefits, as well as in its long-distance comfort - and we've designed all of our bibs with this in mind.
Should you want a more relaxed fit, we recommend ordering a size up. Find your fit through our sizing tables below.
Chest - Start by placing a measuring tape around the largest part of your chest. The tape should be flat but not too snug.
Waist - Your natural waist lies between your bottom ribs and hip bones, close to the navel. To measure, breathe deeply, relax your stomach and lie the tape measure flat around your waist, allowing for a ¼ inch of slack.
Hip - Measured around the widest point of your hips.
Model measurements - Shown wearing size S jersey / M bib short.

this jacket is indispensable in the winter. keeps me warm in the 30s (F) with a light base layer and into the single digits with a heavier base layer. highly recommend if you ride in cold temperatures! purchased a larger size thinking i would need room for a heavy base layer but not necessary - ended up going with my regular velocio size.
great jacket- zippers and pockets easy to use with thick gloves on. I got the jacket for fat biking in the winter where it is often below 0 F. I was too warm with a base and mid layer underneath it unless it was well below 0 deg. I ended up with the L because I wanted to have layering options - the sizes run small - I am 130 lbs with a small frame and 34D for reference.
I've used the ZERO HL Jacket only once so far in mid 30s, sunny, and no wind, along with a turtleneck base layer and the ZERO Bib Tights. And it was too hot! It's rated 15-32, so appears the rating is accurate. Looking forward to using it in colder temps. I would also say this jacket is definitely on the fitted side, but I think fitted in this case is preferable to loose. I would at most wear a base layer or thin long sleeve jersey under it, and if needed, a vest over it.
Love the jacket! I'm 5'1" and about 120 lbs. I ordered a medium and had to exchange for a large. The large fits but I won't be able to wear layers underneath. Thankfully, I don't think I'll need layers - seems warm enough!
Great jacket, super warm and great quality.
