  • Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.

We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.

Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.

Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.

Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.

Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.

Velocio fit is designed for comfort and performance. Starting with a form-fit silhouette, we've developed our women's-specific patterns from the ground up to compliment a wide range of body types and riding styles. All of our apparel is tailored for on-bike fit to ensure optimal muscle support and range of motion while riding. You may find certain aspects of our garments to seem "off" while standing, yet once you start pedaling these points disappear.

Velocio bibs and shorts are made from highly compressive performance fabric for excellent support through an athletic fit. They will feel small when you first put them on and will often require washing and a few rides for them to "break in." We strongly believe in the benefits of compression - both in its performance benefits, as well as in its long-distance comfort - and we've designed all of our bibs with this in mind.

Should you want a more relaxed fit, we recommend ordering a size up. Find your fit through our sizing tables below.

Women's sizing guide

Taking your measurements

Chest - Start by placing a measuring tape around the largest part of your chest. The tape should be flat but not too snug.

Waist - Your natural waist lies between your bottom ribs and hip bones, close to the navel. To measure, breathe deeply, relax your stomach and lie the tape measure flat around your waist, allowing for a ¼ inch of slack.

Hip - Measured around the widest point of your hips.

Model measurements - Shown wearing size S jersey / M bib short.

    Beautifully made but fits small

Love this jacket but it fits on the smaller size. I would definitely size up.

    nice jacket

The only thing, I found it runs a tad small compared to the Velocio items I have. It is a great jacket though - definitely kept me dry and warm on some cold/wet rides.

Great fit and feel but warning no pockets

I love the jacket fit fabric and color but just assumed there would be a pocket somewhere but unfortunately no.

    Great jacket!

I ordered the blue color (Schoeller C-Change) and I have used the jacket in cool weather (mid 30's to low 40's F) and been comfortable with one or two light jerseys underneath. I have used it in light rain, but not pouring rain yet and it worked fine. I run hot and was worried it wouldn't breathe well enough, but it is great! It is comparable to eVent and is better than Goretex. (I like it better than my husband's Shake Dry Goretex jacket). That said, I think it would be too warm to wear with temperatures in the 50's, but that is true for any rain jacket, for me anyway. This jacket is meant to be worn for an entire ride; it is not an emergency shell. That is why the weather needs to be on the cool side since not that much air penetrates the fabric so you will stay warmer. The fit runs small; I tried the large and extra large and I kept the XL. I am 5' 9" and weigh 145 pounds, but I have skinny arms and upper torso. I mostly had to keep the XL because of the torso length; the arms were long enough in the L. Quality of construction is exceptional. There are no pit zips, but the front zipper opens from the bottom or top, so I can get extra airflow if needed. My only complaint is I wish the blue color were brighter for road safety. Customer service was exceptional. They answered my questions and sent me the different size and fabric choices to compare. So now I really feel confident in my purchase!
