Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
Our jerseys and bib shorts are intended to be form fit, providing compressive support, maximizing performance of the fabrics, and reducing fatigue and chafing. Due to the compressive nature of the fabrics, you will be able to fit into more than one size. Please use the charts below to help determine your optimum size:
Our sizing chart represents the majority of riders we’ve worked with first hand in our clothing. If your size falls outside of the specified chart, please contact customer service for insights or take advantage of our Signature Guarantee which allows for testing and return within 30 days if your riding experience, including fit, isn’t improved.

Sweet riding shorts, seams in the right place, lightweight. Roomy without feeling overly baggy. My other favorites are by Dakine and Patagonia, but I have added Velocio Trail Shorts to the list. Nice too, when paired with the mesh trail bibs.
I've been making the switch from "XC racer" to "fun rider" for the last two years. That obviously involves switching from racing bibs to baggies and growing hair on my legs. I've bought from several brands over that time and these are the best I've found. The material, fit (I'm 5'10, 150lbs and wear a Small), number of pockets and waist adjuster are all just right. The shorts stretch enough to allow free movement. They're the perfect length, just above the knee. The belt helps you find the exact size for your waist and tucks away. And you aren't overloaded with too many pockets. Two is just enough. Why load down your shorts with too much stuff? I have the chamois liner bibs for underneath. Are they pricey? Sure. But it's worth it for me to have shorts I love vs spend half the money for shorts that are just meh.
The material is great. It’s light weight with plenty of stretch. It breathes well and dries quickly. One thing that could improve is the belt adjustment. It takes some manipulating to adjust, so it’s not quick, but once in place I didn’t have to touch it again. Things that I would change, and these are personal preferences, are the length of the shorts to be about an inch shorter because I don’t ever wear knee guards, if I did they would be perfect. Next, I would add front pockets because when I’m off the bike I want to have place to put my hands or toss my phone.
I don't dislike these shorts enough to return them, but there are two features that they have that make them annoying to wear. One is the leg length, which is too long for comfortable use, and I'm 6'1", so I think when they are too long on me, they just might be too long for a lot of people. The other annoyance is the pockets, which are too low and not well placed. The light weight fabric is cool in hot weather, but rather flimsy feeling in use. After washing, the belt feature became almost impossible to use easily, where before washing it functioned ewell. For the price paid, they don't have the features or quality we are used to in other Velocio products.
I've really enjoyed these shorts. The fabric is lightweight, stretchy, and quick-drying. The pockets are nicely engineered so that having items in them doesn't interfere with pedaling. Wearing these as shorts over liners feels nearly the same as wearing a regular pair of bibs.
