Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. Its important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. Youll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86F (30C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Dont do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
FAQ
How do your jackets fit?
Our jackets are patterned in the riding position, with a tight fit across the chest and arms with a more forward position. This is intentional to reduce flapping and extra fabric across the chest while riding. When standing, the jacket will feel tight across the chest, shoulders and torso. The arm length might appear long as well. However, the intended fit is tailored for on-the-bike positioning where the shoulders and torso no longer feel tight and the extra arm length hits the wrists in the appropriate spot. Constructed without extra fabric to flap around - it should fit tight over your jersey (with enough room for a long sleeve and base layer), but shouldn’t appear baggy. We select fabrics that have some elasticity to allow for freedom of movement even with a tailored fit to accommodate some range of fit within each size.

Sizing Guide
Our jerseys and bib shorts are intended to be form fit, providing compressive support, maximizing the performance of the fabrics, and reducing fatigue and chafing. Please use the charts below to help determine your optimum size. If you find that you are on the upper or lower end of height and weight for a given size, the garment will have more or less compression respectively. In areas of overlap, multiple sizes will work — choose between the smaller or larger option for more or less compression.

Just what I needed/wanted for windy, cool but not true winter conditions, which are the true majority of my winter riding days. Handles light rain with no issues, much, much better than other jacket manufactures "claims".

I am quite pleased with the Signature Softshell Jacket. When paired with the Alpha long-sleeve mid-layer, I am comfortable riding in temperatures in the “feels-like” 20º F. When I tried the jacket on, the fit felt off around the chest and upper back. Re-reading the product description explained the fit. I decided to give it a go knowing Velocio’s Signature Guarantee "Ride in a new piece of kit for that 30 days and if for any reason you aren’t satisfied, return the piece for a complete refund.” I am glad I did. It’s definitely a keeper and I will purchase another one in Fire Red when I can rationalized the expenditure. (I purchased and love the one in Night color which is kind of an elegant dark purple.)

Overall great jacket for appropriate conditions. Should consider external seam taping on forward facing seams. This area has consistent soak through. External tape wouldn’t interfere with current construction methods and color contrast could be nice aesthetic. Castillo has done similar with Gabba etc. Also consider internal or external mesh rear pocket system to avoid double layer of Event with increased bulk and condensation.

I love it for riding between 30-55degF. I’ve also been Nordic skiing in it and like it, but it isn’t cut as comfortably for skiing. Fit is perfect for riding and extremely comfortable.
