Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
Velocio fit is designed for comfort and performance. Starting with a form-fit silhouette, we've developed our women's-specific patterns from the ground up to compliment a wide range of body types and riding styles. All of our apparel is tailored for on-bike fit to ensure optimal muscle support and range of motion while riding. You may find certain aspects of our garments to seem "off" while standing, yet once you start pedaling these points disappear.
Velocio bibs and shorts are made from highly compressive performance fabric for excellent support through an athletic fit. They will feel small when you first put them on and will often require washing and a few rides for them to "break in." We strongly believe in the benefits of compression - both in its performance benefits, as well as in its long-distance comfort - and we've designed all of our bibs with this in mind.
Should you want a more relaxed fit, we recommend ordering a size up. Find your fit through our sizing tables below.
Chest - Start by placing a measuring tape around the largest part of your chest. The tape should be flat but not too snug.
Waist - Your natural waist lies between your bottom ribs and hip bones, close to the navel. To measure, breathe deeply, relax your stomach and lie the tape measure flat around your waist, allowing for a ¼ inch of slack.
Hip - Measured around the widest point of your hips.
Model measurements - Shown wearing size S jersey / M bib short.

I’ll look forward to trying this vest more in cooler weather but in the meantime, can say that it is very well thought out and offers some great features. Top among them is the double zipper which is great when one warms up because you can keep the vest on without it billowing out (if only secured at the bottom). Other nice features are the pockets and attractively designed reflective features.
I'm absolutely in love with this vest. It's perfect for Portland, Oregon winter days with a LS jersey and wool baselayer. The pockets are substantial and hold their shape well (I carry my rain jacket in my center pocket), the fabric is so soft and stretchy, the fit is perfect. This has quickly become my favorite seasonal piece.
This vest is a surprisingly versatile weight for cycling. I'm in the SF Bay Area. I've comfortably worn it unzipped up a long climb on 75˚F day, and then zipped it up for the descent. It fits close to the body and the pockets feel very secure. The double zipper is a great feature as well. For a warmer climate, like CA, this can be worn year round. My suggestions: (1) The zipped pocket is a great idea, but it sits in the middle of the vest, leaving whatever I put in it resting on my backbone. In another iteration of this vest, I'd put the zipped pocket on either the left or right side of the vest. (2) I love the snug fit, but the armholes are VERY snug. It doesn't cut off circulation, so doesn't **** my vibe on the bike. But the vest would be more versatile if the armholes were a tad more forgiving. For example, this would be an awesome vest for XC skiing. However, the arm constriction would be uncomfortable in any sport where I would have to move my arms (i.e. everything other than cycling).
Great fit. Cozy and stylish. Everything you want in a vest.
The double zipper allows me to regulate temperature all day without having to remove this layer of clothing - I love it!
