We took the same great fit and comfort of our Signature Short and sought where we could make the short more affordable without generally compromising quality. A new lightweight, recycled fabric gives balanced compression and an opaque finish. With the same leg gripper and trims found on the Signature and a high-density chamois, these shorts provide excellent support in a slightly thinner form - perfect for shorter distances or the mid-week lunch ride. With all that packed in, the Foundation is a premium bib short at a not-so-premium price.
Fabric: 78% Recycled Polyamide / 22% Elastane
Made in: Italy
Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
Our jerseys and bib shorts are intended to be form fit, providing compressive support, maximizing performance of the fabrics, and reducing fatigue and chafing. Due to the compressive nature of the fabrics, you will be able to fit into more than one size. Please use the charts below to help determine your optimum size:

I'm 5'2"105 lbs -- the size chart says, I'm right in the middle of the "XS". Ordered. I couldn't get these over my hips - as soon as they came out of the package, they looked like they would fit a 4th grader. :-). I'm not sure how well they work bc I never got them on. Definitely size up if you're ordering. In EVERYTHING I ordered in XS was way too tight -- like uncomfortable tight...not race fit tight. Size up my friends.
Thanks for the feedback Mrs. O! All of our clothing is designed to be compressive as there are many beneifts to it in cycling. We definetely recommend using the Dimension Details size chart, as different body shapes might require sizing up or down accordingly after using the height/weight table. But we're glad you were able to take advantage of our Signature Guarantee! Let us know if you need anything else! email@example.com
These are almost the most uncomfortable cycling shorts I've ever worn. The fabric has almost no stretch, which makes they stiff to put on, and not terribly comfortable to wear. Also, the waistband doesn't sit at the waist.
Sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the Foundation Shorts. We do offer a 30-Day Signature Guarantee on all our products, so if you haven't already, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll take care of you.
My friend Devin recommended these chamois to me. They arrived promptly and service was great. I am 5'11" and ordered a XL. They are very slightly snug but are not too small. The fit and padding are super comfortable! I am planning on buying another pair.
Superb quality material and excellent feel!
Following the fit guide, I purchased a S. I was close to the upper end of the size small hip width. I could barely get them over my legs. Customer service was fantastic. They sent me a M, but still, even though I was now at the lowest end of the hip measurements, they were too small. Customer service stuck with me and was determined to find a pair that fit me. We tried the Signature short instead and those fit closer to fit guide for sure. Went with the Signature in the end.
Sorry you didn't have the best expereince with the Foundation Short. We have updated our size and fit guide taking in feedback from hundreds of products reviews, so we're hopeful the new guide will be more accurate and helpful. And thanks for reaching out to email@example.com!
