Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
Velocio fit is designed for comfort and performance. Starting with a form-fit silhouette, we've developed our women's-specific patterns from the ground up to compliment a wide range of body types and riding styles. All of our apparel is tailored for on-bike fit to ensure optimal muscle support and range of motion while riding. You may find certain aspects of our garments to seem "off" while standing, yet once you start pedaling these points disappear.
Velocio bibs and shorts are made from highly compressive performance fabric for excellent support through an athletic fit. They will feel small when you first put them on and will often require washing and a few rides for them to "break in." We strongly believe in the benefits of compression - both in its performance benefits, as well as in its long-distance comfort - and we've designed all of our bibs with this in mind.
Should you want a more relaxed fit, we recommend ordering a size up. Find your fit through our sizing tables below.
Chest - Start by placing a measuring tape around the largest part of your chest. The tape should be flat but not too snug.
Waist - Your natural waist lies between your bottom ribs and hip bones, close to the navel. To measure, breathe deeply, relax your stomach and lie the tape measure flat around your waist, allowing for a ¼ inch of slack.
Hip - Measured around the widest point of your hips.
Model measurements - Shown wearing size S jersey / M bib short.

I wear this jacket all the time! It's really lightweight - almost like a thin, warm version of a long sleeve jersey and it keeps out the wind too. If it's cooler than 50 degrees, I sometimes wear a sleeveless tank underneath or a lightweight vest over it. I own two of these because they are the perfect top to wear in my Northern California windy, foggy weather. I bought it first in black, then ordered the red for higher visibility in foggy conditions and/or early evening rides. Like many of my Velocio tops, they fit pretty snug. I like my tops to be pretty snug but not skin tight. I'm 5'10," 135 lbs and I wear a size Large in this and my other Velocio jerseys/jackets.
Snapped up the jacket when it went on sale and I'm so glad i did. The first jacket sent had neck seams loose, but i contacted Velocio and they immediately sent a replacement, prior to receiving the original back. Thank you, Velocio! The jacket itself is very windproof, with well-placed extra stretchy panels on the upper arms for give. Rear pockets decently sized, double zipper to optimize temperature control when you warm up. Runs true to size. It's turning into my go-to jacket when the weather is <60 & overcast/rainy. A great staple to consider.
Definitely fits a little more snugly since it's a jersey-fit. I'm 5'7", 135, broad ex-rower shoulders and could probably have gone for a Medium instead of a Small in the shoulders (but the torso would have been way too big). Otherwise, great fit, good pocket placement, sturdy zipper, and super comfy. Good for rides between 40-50 degrees for me.
I have been looking for this type of jacket for a while and finally it in this jacket. I can either wear it over something or wear it alone with a base layer. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was it is hard to get into your back pocket as it does not compact well. But I am very happy with it. I am 5'4 137 and I bought a medium, fits perfect
excellent! a stylish way to keep on riding throughout the year in the northeast. a key component to the streamlined winter kit! it is warm on it's own, without the need for tons of layers. i wear it between 50 and 30 (lower temperature with base layer and vest). below 30 - the zero jacket will keep you toasty.
