Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.

All styles are intended to be form-fitting, across the entire size range. Find a flexible tape measure and take your own body measurements.
Chest - Start by placing a measuring tape around the largest part of your chest. The tape should be flat but not too snug.
Waist - Your natural waist lies between your bottom ribs and hip bones, close to the navel. To measure, breathe deeply, relax your stomach and lie the tape measure flat around your waist, allowing for a ¼ inch of slack.
Hip - Measured around the widest point of your hips.

These shorts are just ok and for the $$$ I feel that many of the elements could have been executed better. The waist cinch seemed like a good idea, but because of the type of webbing used (too thin) it does not stay put. I had to double it back thru the clasp (not easy to do) to get it to stay. If you wear any hydration pack with a waist belt, this clasp digs into your hips. The side pockets on the shorts also look great, but are hard to operate with a single hand because the shorts material is so stretchy. I also hope that the delicate stitching is stronger than it appears (starting to fray after just 2 weekends of riding). I like the orange color and way these shorts look, I just wish the elements mentioned above functioned better for the $170 price tag. FWIW, I also own MTB shorts from Patagonia and Bontrager that also look great and function well without the hefty price.
I wore these on a 95 degree super humid New England day. Normally, I'd be soaked in sweat by the end of my ride, but not in my Velocio trail kit! The shorts are great - comfortable, lightweight and breathable. The pockets on the sides are perfect for carrying your phone. It feels a little weird when you are just standing there, but once on the bike, it's the perfect spot for it.
I tried the medium and a large. Neither of them fit well. They cut into the top of my hip bones on the large. For reference, I wear a medium in Rapha (road) and an 8 in Shredly (mtn). They look like nice shorts.
