New for 2019, the Foundation is a leaner incarnation of our Signature Bib Short.
We took the same great fit and sought where we could make these shorts more affordable without compromising quality. The result is a bib short made from a lightweight, recycled fabric offering balanced compression and a unique opaque finish. We used the same bib straps, leg gripper and trims as found on the Signature but incorporated a simpler high-density chamois for excellent support in a slightly thinner form - ideal for shorter stints in the saddle. A premium bib short at a not-so-premium price, the Foundation offers a platform for a better riding experience.
Fabric: 78% Recycled Polyamide / 22% Elastane

Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
Velocio fit is designed for comfort and performance. Starting with a form-fit silhouette, we've developed our men's-specific patterns from the ground up to compliment a wide range of body types and riding styles. All of our apparel is tailored for on-bike fit to ensure optimal muscle support and range of motion while riding. You may find certain aspects of our garments to seem "off" while standing, yet once you start pedaling these points disappear.
Velocio bibs and shorts are made from highly compressive performance fabric for excellent support through an athletic fit. They will feel small when you first put them on and will often require washing and a few rides for them to "break in." We strongly believe in the benefits of compression - both in its performance benefits, as well as in its long-distance comfort - and we've designed all of our bibs with this in mind.
Should you want a more relaxed fit, we recommend ordering a size up. Find your fit through our sizing tables below.
Chest - Start by placing a measuring tape around the largest part of your chest. The tape should be flat but not too snug.
Waist - Your natural waist lies between your bottom ribs and hip bones, close to the navel. To measure, breathe deeply, relax your stomach and lie the tape measure flat around your waist, allowing for a ¼ inch of slack.
Hip - Measured around the widest point of your hips.
Model measurements - Shown wearing size M.

Cut and compression are just right. The straps felt strange at first but are great on the bike. These bibs are as good as another pair I have from a certain Swiss company.
I typically wear my kits until they are falling apart so I thought I would treat myself to some new shorts I hadn't owned before. If these are the base model short, than I really want to know what the high end short fits like. These were excellent, the first ride I did after I got them was about 75 miles of Pennsylvania back roads and they performed wonderfully. The leg grippers and should straps are two things that really stood out to me. you can tell that these were give a lot of consideration when these shorts were being designed. I will be buying more!
First and foremost the customer service is excellent. I shy away from ordering clothes online because I'm fussy and hate to deal with returns. I emailed prior to ordering and got a solid and correct suggestion as to size. The shorts are well-constructed and fit properly. I was initially hesitant about the criss cross straps but they disappear once you get them on. I've been riding Assos shorts for 9+ years and these are equal to or better than Assos in terms of construction. The pad is--maybe-- a tad less puffy but it does the job without shifting while riding. I'm a satisfied customer and will likely order another pair or a set of fall/winter tights.
I had to send a pair back because of a tear on the bib strap. Velocio immediately sent me a replacement without question. I have worn the new pairs on two separate occasions and so far they feel great. The chamois is very comfortable and the bibs stayed in place with no irritation. My rides were both just under two hours so hard to say how they will feel on longer rides. I purchased the small, I am 61 kg (135 lb) and raise about 28-29 inches.
awesome as expected
