Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
How do your jackets fit?
Our jackets are patterned in the riding position, with a tight fit across the chest and arms with a more forward position. This is intentional to reduce flapping and extra fabric across the chest while riding. When standing, the jacket will feel tight across the chest, shoulders and torso. The arm length might appear long as well. However, the intended fit is tailored for on-the-bike positioning where the shoulders and torso no longer feel tight and the extra arm length hits the wrists in the appropriate spot. Constructed without extra fabric to flap around - it should fit tight over your jersey (with enough room for a long sleeve and base layer), but shouldn’t appear baggy. We select fabrics that have some elasticity to allow for freedom of movement even with a tailored fit to accommodate some range of fit within each size.
How does this jacket compare to others?

Our jerseys and bib shorts are intended to be form fit, providing compressive support, maximizing performance of the fabrics, and reducing fatigue and chafing. Due to the compressive nature of the fabrics, you will be able to fit into more than one size. Please use the charts below to help determine your optimum size:
Our sizing chart represents the majority of riders we’ve worked with first hand in our clothing. If your size falls outside of the specified chart, please contact customer service for insights or take advantage of our Signature Guarantee which allows for testing and return within 30 days if your riding experience, including fit, isn’t improved.

I bought this jacket for my partner who is 6’2’ and 210 lbs with broad shoulders. I thought a XXL would fit fine but it was comically small. Disappointed to send it back as it’s beautiful, high quality jacket. I continue to be frustrated by cycling clothing’s tendency to run small and keep hoping gear companies will catch onto the fact that we’re not all built like pro athletes. On a brighter note, Velocio made this very easy to return and paid for shipping both ways.
Hey Stacy! Thanks for your review. We're really sorry the fit didn't work out. Our jackets are patterned in the riding position, with a tight fit across the chest and arms with a more forward position. This is intentional to reduce flapping and extra fabric across the chest while riding. When standing, the jacket will feel tight across the chest, shoulders, and torso. The arm length might appear long as well. Constructed without extra fabric to flap around - it should fit tight over your jersey (with enough room for a long sleeve and base layer), but shouldn’t appear baggy. All our garments are backed by our Signature Guarantee, allowing for you to try out any garment for up to 30 days risk-free, but we’re glad the return process was smooth for you. We want to make sure you are satisfied with any future purchase, so please feel free to contact us at email@example.com and we'd be happy to assist you!
Great jacket that packs down tiny. Great for the warming ascents and cold descents of shoulder season in the mountains. Brownie points for the supremely comfy neck when zipped up fully. Only wish was that the back had some breathable material so it doesn't collect moisture as much, but still a 5 star jacket as it does exactly what it ascribes to.
Cons: I was surprised how see-through this jacket is, at least in the mustard yellow. This is my first piece of Velocio kit, so unfortunately other other brand names and designs of jerseys underneath are easily seen. Maybe it's necessary for a light wind-jacket to be see-through to breath well at this price point, but photos on site don't depict this. Also, phone kept in rear zipper pocket hung partially below the jacket hem. The pocket could be secured in place better. Pros: looks sharp, no flapping in the wind, well vented with the mesh inserts, good quality zipper, silicone gripper around bottom hem and cuff elastic. Reflective tabs, Super light and packable. Kept me warm combined with long sleeve jersey and light base layer on inaugural 45'F ride.
Ive been riding for 15 years and never owned a super light windbreaker until now, always using a full rain shell instead. But having this very light and packable piece has been awesome. I use it all the time!
It’s good, bright color and a really nice zipper. Just don’t get caught in a down pour.
