Too often, you don’t pack the rain jacket. Even if the forecast is dire, there’s tendency to grab too light a layer and leave behind real weather protection in favor of packability. That’s where the new Ultralight Rain Jacket comes in.
Introducing the lightest, best fitting, most breathable, most packable, most protective, most versatile jacket we’ve ever made. Yes, jacket - not just rain jacket. (So pack it this time.)
When we decided to start with a clean sheet of paper to design a new rain shell, we had a long list of requirements and bests that we needed to address. The main one being that it couldn’t be just a rain jacket.
With an entirely new pattern, it incorporates 3D shaping, articulated sleeves, shoulder and back to fit flawlessly on the bike, yet still allow for a range of layers beneath. Every detail was reconsidered and reengineered to minimize bulk, maximize on-bike function and keep with our ultra-clean aesthetic. This is a jacket that you can reach for when it isn’t raining. A jacket that does threatening skies and foggy days, windy starts and mountain descents.
The basis for this all-season protective wonder is ultralight eVent fabric, with its Direct Vent membrane that doesn’t require heat & moisture build up inside for it to start working (unlike almost every other membrane on the market), critical for comfort, over the long haul.
To eVent’s 30K breathability, 10K waterproof rating and 0.2cfm air permeability, we added fully taped seams, internal bonded zip pocket with media port, low profile elastic cuffs, microfleece-lined collar, caped back vent that doubles as access to jersey pockets, extended rear hem, and reflective detailing throughout and you have a jacket capable of living in your jersey pocket for anytime “jacket weather” arises.
Caring for your cycling gear properly will extend its life and maintain its performance, fit and quality. It’s important to consider these instructions carefully. While we stand behind the quality of our apparel, not adhering to these instructions will void our warranty against manufacturing & defects.
We strongly recommend washing your new gear before wearing it. You’ll find that your apparel will soften, and fit & comfort will improve after washing - especially with bibs & shorts.
Machine wash cool, 86°F (30°C) with like colors: Cooler temps maintain better longevity for your apparel. Like colors, especially lights, will remain more vibrant when washed with like colors.
Use mild detergent. Do not bleach or dry clean: Strong detergents & bleach can break down the fibers and elastane in the garment, dramatically reducing its life.
Close all fastenings: this goes also for other garments mixed in with your cycling apparel. Velcro closures or clasps can catch on stitching or trim and damage your garments.
Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry: Do not put your cycling apparel in the dryer. Even on low heat. Don’t do it. Heat can damage fabric, elastic and heat transfer logos very easily. Lycra (Elastane) is used throughout our garments to provide compression and support and is susceptible to damage from heat and can irreparably damage your apparel.
How do your vests fit?
Our vests are patterned for the riding position, with a tighter fit across the chest and an arm opening with a more forward position. This is intentional to reduce flapping and extra fabric across the chest while riding. When standing, the vest will feel tight across the chest and torso. This piece should fit tight over your jersey (with enough room for a long sleeve and base layer), and shouldn’t appear baggy. We select fabrics that have some elasticity to allow for freedom of movement even with a tailored fit to accommodate some range of fit within each size.
How do your jackets fit?
Similar to our vests, our jackets are patterned in the riding position, with a tight fit across the chest and arms with a more forward position. This is intentional to reduce flapping and extra fabric across the chest while riding. When standing, the jacket will feel tight across the chest, shoulders and torso. The arm length might appear long as well. However, the intended fit is tailored for on-the-bike positioning where the shoulders and torso no longer feel tight and the extra arm length hits the wrists in the appropriate spot. Constructed without extra fabric to flap around - it should fit tight over your jersey (with enough room for a long sleeve and base layer), but shouldn’t appear baggy. We select fabrics that have some elasticity to allow for freedom of movement even with a tailored fit to accommodate some range of fit within each size.
Our jerseys and bib shorts are intended to be form fit, providing compressive support, maximizing performance of the fabrics, and reducing fatigue and chaffing. Due to the compressive nature of the fabrics, you will be able to fit into more than one size. Please use the charts below to help determine your optimum size.

I've purchased a few jerseys and bibs. As a XXL size rider, I really love how Velocio gear fits me, has such nice fabrics and is so well constructed. This jacket fit a little snug through the shoulders and chest but was uncomfortably constricting around my slight belly. This the first cycling kit return I have done in ages, but the nice people at Velocio told me changes are afoot for F/W 2020 so I eagerly await.
A fantastic rain jacket, but even if it is a race cut it runs a little small. I started with a small since that's my jersey size, but couldn't stand up without it binding my chest. Exchanged for a medium (which was actually a pleasant experience), but while that fits better it's still a little tight across the chest.
